Material handling is the process of moving materials in preparation for use or in other words, it is the act or process of preparing or moving materials for some function. It is used in construction and other industries to move materials from one place to another whether it may be to repair part or finish part of the construction work or relocation of equipment from one place to another. Moving materials can also refer to moving materials temporarily for any business purpose.

There are many types of material handling equipment. Many kinds of material handling equipment are available to help in the moving and storing of materials for a wide range of purposes. The main purpose of these types of equipment is to move the heavy items and containers to the desired location.
